Ordinal needed a professional, modern visual identity to raise their first round and go to market.
I worked with the founders of Ordinal to define compelling messaging and a visual identity that matched their market niche.
AI has become a buzzword, which can make it hard for startups with this technology to stand out. In traditional spaces, like municipal governments, there can also be a negative connotation with AI tools in the workplace.
I worked with the founding team to develop clear, compelling value propositions and differentiators that were approachable to their target market. Their tool (Ordinal) trains AI on a city's municipal codes, regulations, and other documents. Municipal employees can then search and ask questions about those documents without having to search through hundreds of documents.
Search what you thought unsearchable.
Find answers to municipal code compliance questions in seconds, not hours.
Why this matters: The average municipal staff member spends 15 hours a week researching and answering questions around code compliance. Many department, especially city planning, are drowning in asks and slowing down progress. Ordinal allows municipalities to fast-track progress by serving answers to complicated questions with references.
Fast-track your area's progress with AI technology.
Why this matters: Bringing AI into government workflows frees up employee time to focus on what matters: making progress on their communities. Red tape and backlogs of requests can hold up development, slowing innovation and giving governments a negative reputation. This technology brings some of the most helpful advances today into the government workplace to make everyone's life a little easier.
Set your department up in 45-minutes.
Why this matters: Unlike other government technologies that require extensive IT involvement, Ordinal is a standalone web-based application that can be quickly set up and used by employees, enhancing accessibility and ease of use.
After establishing the core messaging, we developed a visual identity that balanced innovation and professionalism. The chosen colors are muted but applied in gradients to impart a modern touch. A slightly rounded sans-serif font was selected for its clean yet approachable appearance. The "chat bubble" shape was incorporated into imagery and patterns, with lines used to indicate connections.
No brand is ever done. We are actively evolving both the messaging and visuals as the team expands their marketing / sales efforts and we receive feedback from the market.
